You’ll drive along the old road that leads to Santo Domingo, where sugar cane fields abound and their sugary aroma permeates the air. You’ll pass by the training grounds of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Many Major League Baseball players are originally from San Pedro de Macorís. You’ll be welcomed into a quintessential Dominican home, so you can get a first-hand look at the authentic Dominican way of life, gaining a better understanding of their culture. You’ll then visit the town of Bayaguana, located in the municipality of Monte Plata. You’ll also get the chance to travel through 400 years of history in a thousand-year-old parish church. This is Bayaguana’s Santo Cristo de los Milagros, the oldest church on the island. This excursion takes approximately 8 hours and is available every Thursday and Saturday.
