You’ll tour the Amber Museum featuring neoclassical architecture and enjoy its splendid collection. You’ll also visit Fortaleza San Felipe, the oldest military fortification in America, made of ancient fossils and pieces extracted from the amber mines in the Northern Mountains. Then you’ll ride the Puerto Plata Cable Car located at the top of Isabel de Torres Mountain, at 2,555 feet above sea level. A botanical garden and the iconic statue of Christ await you at the top of the mountain. You can also discover the secrets of the best Dominican rum at the Brugal Distillery, which produces around 1.5 million litres of white and dark rum every year. This excursion is only available every Thursday and takes approximately 6 hours.
