Santa Cruz Laguna and Taganana – South
This excursion will take you from the most modern city of Tenerife, passing through a historic and colonial city, to the inside of Anaga Rural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve, to visit a typical hamlet by the sea. This is an excursion of contrasts that will let you get to know the island’s history. Our first stop will be Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital and the main hub of maritime connections in the Canary Islands. There you’ll see gorgeous buildings such as the Auditorio de Tenerife or avant-garde constructions such as Plaza de España or Plaza Weyler. We’ll continue on to La Laguna, the first city founded in Tenerife after its conquest. This historic jewel was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Here we’ll walk through its picturesque streets steeped in history and culture. We’ll continue our journey into the impressive Anaga Massif, also declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. This natural area is home to one of the most valuable treasures in Europe: the laurel forest from the Tertiary Period. Descending towards the island’s beautiful northeastern coast, we’ll get to the hamlet of Taganana, which stands out for its beauty and its views of the ocean and the cliffs. In Taganana, you’ll have free time to stroll around, have lunch and try Canarian cuisine. Our guide will recommend restaurants in the area. After lunch and a day visiting several of Tenerife’s landmarks, we’ll take you back to your pick-up point.
