Teide National Park – South

This excursion will take you to great heights to discover the highest peak in Spain: Mount Teide. We’ll cross the Canary pine forests until we reach Teide National Park, located at about 2,000 metres above sea level. This natural area was declared a National Park in 1954, with the aim of protecting this landscape of incredible beauty and great ecological value. We’ll stop several times along the way so you can admire everything this natural area has to offer. The Cañadas del Teide form a 17-kilometre-long caldera on which the peak of the volcano sits. The landscape with its cones, lava flows, and caves looks like something from another planet. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy Canarian cuisine by trying one of the restaurants that we recommend in the area of El Portillo. Afterwards, we’ll go to the base station of the cable car where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Ucanca Valley. Optionally and subject to availability, you can take the Teide cable car up to La Rambleta station, located at 3,550 m, where you’ll only be a few metres away from Spain’s tallest peak. We’ll resume our journey and visit the Roques de García, where you’ll see one of the most iconic images of Tenerife, as well as other important attractions of the National Park.
