Teide at Night – North
On this excursion, you’ll get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the National Park in the afternoon, and enjoy the best skies for stargazing. Tenerife has 83 of the 88 constellations in the sky, and the main purpose of the excursion is to enjoy the sky as our ancestors did. We’ll use the naked eye to observe the sky, enjoy the stories, and discover the constellations, under the supervision of our Starlight guides. We’ll head towards Teide National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It’s one of the world’s most spectacular manifestations of volcanic activity. Its summit is the highest peak in Spain, at 3,718 metres. We’ll enter the National Park through La Esperanza mountain, and we’ll stop at the viewpoint to take in the views of the Orotava Valley. Once we reach the National Park, we’ll visit Zapatilla de La Reina viewpoint, Narices del Teide viewpoint, Llano de Ucanca viewpoint and Roques de García, from where you can admire Pico Viejo and the majestic Teide, formations that are definitely one-of-a-kind. The hundreds of cones, lava flows, and caves enrich their scientific and landscape value. To all this, the wealth of indigenous flora and fauna in the Park must also be added. After free time at the Roques, we’ll go to a viewpoint to enjoy the sunset. Once the sun has set, as soon as night falls, we can start the stargazing activity where the Starlight guide will explain the stars and constellations that can be seen, depending on the season of the year. They’ll point out where they are using a laser pointer. Once the stargazing activity is over, you’ll be brought back to your hotel.
