La Gomera Island – North

This excursion will depart from the port of Los Cristianos, Tenerife, taking the ferry to San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island’s port and capital. Once there, you’ll begin the climb to Garajonay National Park, a paradise of laurel forests, a nature reserve, and World Heritage Site. You’ll stop at Degollada de Peraza viewpoint, where you can take in stunning panoramic views of the island. You’ll continue the tour by passing through La Palmita, entering directly into the National Park until you reach the small hamlets of Las Rosas and Agulo. There, you’ll have time for lunch in a quintessential Gomeran restaurant where you’ll be given a live demonstration of the well-known Silbo Gomero, a peculiar method of communication. If time permits, after lunch you’ll visit the Juego de Bolas Visitor Information Centre. The return trip will take you through the Hermigua Valley to San Sebastián, where you’ll see Torre del Conde or Casa de Colón, the last historical landmarks of Christopher Columbus’ passage before his departure to the American Continent.
