In Tenerife

La Gomera Island – South

We’ll leave from the port of Los Cristianos in Tenerife, taking the Fred Olsen Express ferry to San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island’s port and capital. There, we’ll board a coach to visit our first stop: the Hermigua Valley. We’ll continue our journey passing through La Palmita and arrive at the hamlet of Las Rosas, in Agulo. There, you’ll have time for lunch in a traditional restaurant and, availability permitting, watch a live demonstration of the Silbo Gomero. After lunch, we’ll begin our climb to Garajonay National Park, a paradise of laurel forests and a nature reserve declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There, we’ll stop at La Laguna Grande, where you can explore the surroundings where the island’s old witches are said to have gathered. On the way back, we’ll stop to admire the imposing Roque de Agando, an impressive and rugged volcanic lava formation. Finally, we’ll go back to San Sebastián, where you’ll see the last historical landmarks of Christopher Columbus’ passage before his departure to the American Continent with Torre del Conde or Casa de Colón.
